Word गेम attention, vocabulary और letters के बीच connection देखने की ability पर बने होते हैं। यहाँ केवल familiar word याद करना काफी नहीं; clue को सही पढ़ना, options को check करना और already found answers को use करना ज़रूरी है। कुछ games crossword जैसे होते हैं, जबकि कुछ में letters से words बनाना, hidden words ढूँढना, meaning guess करना या limited attempts में answer के करीब पहुँचना होता है। ऐसी games में rushing कम ही help करती है: अच्छा result आम तौर पर calm checking, careful reading और unlikely options को अलग करने की ability से आता है।

इस श्रेणी से खेल चुनते समय tasks कितने clear हैं, language level कैसा है और match का tempo कैसे बनाया गया है, यह देखना उपयोगी है। शांत खेल के लिए ऐसे modes बेहतर होते हैं जहाँ words याद किए जा सकें, spelling check की जा सके और logical clues connect किए जा सकें। अगर tension चाहिए, तो timer, riddle series, bonuses और mistakes की limit वाली versions अधिक रोचक हैं। शुरुआती खिलाड़ियों के लिए short words, direct clues और simple rules सुविधाजनक होते हैं। अनुभवी खिलाड़ी आमतौर पर ऐसे projects पसंद करते हैं जहाँ rare words, meaning play, ambiguous questions और ऐसे tasks हों जिनमें correct answer कुछ indirect hints से ढूँढना पड़ता है।
